Cleary Gottlieb Team Named a Litigator of the Week Finalist for Representing Hulu

Cleary Gottlieb partners Clement Naples, Gregory Sobolski, and Thomas Yeh led a team that was selected as a “Litigator of the Week” finalist by The American Lawyer’s Litigation Daily.

The team was recognized for securing a defense win for Hulu in patent litigation related to targeted advertisements and streaming.

U.S. District Judge R. Gary Klausner in Los Angeles granted Hulu’s motion for a judgment on the pleadings, finding that all seven patents asserted by plaintiff Innovation Technologies Partners were directed at abstract ideas and ineligible for patent protection.

The Cleary team included patent attorney Joe Akalski.
