Igor Kleyman’s practice focuses on a wide range of regulatory and transactional matters related to digital assets, derivatives, market infrastructure, and artificial intelligence (AI).

He has deep knowledge of the relevant regulatory, compliance, and transactional issues facing market participants looking to engage in digital assets activities. He has held senior in-house positions related to digital assets including Head of Legal for Digital Assets at Nasdaq and Associate General Counsel at Gemini Trust Company. In these roles, Igor has devised and implemented strategies to launch and operate digital assets products including custody, trading, tokenization, and derivatives. He has deep experience with the regulation, governance, and market structure of digital assets.

Igor’s practice also focuses on artificial intelligence including establishing governance and compliance for AI products. Prior to joining Cleary he was a senior manager at Amazon and led Amazon’s Responsible AI Governance program, helping establish the expectations for responsible development and use of AI.

He has also represented global financial institutions on a wide range of issues in connection with derivatives regulation, broker-dealer regulation, resolution planning, and recovery for Global Systemically Important Banking institutions and related regulatory developments, including CFTC, SEC, and U.S. Prudential Regulator regulations.

Igor originally joined the firm in 2012 as an associate and transitioned in-house in 2018. He rejoined the firm as a partner in 2026.
