Cleary Gottlieb and 17 of the firm’s lawyers received The Legal Aid Society’s 2023 Pro Bono Publico Award.
This year, The Legal Aid Society recognized Cleary for its work on a wide range of pro bono legal matters, including sealing eligible criminal records for clients in need as part of The Legal Aid Society’s Case Closed Project in partnership with attorneys from Verizon and pursuing claims for violations of wage and hour laws in EDNY on behalf of two former restaurant employees.
The Legal Aid Society also recognized the firm’s commitment to public service through the Cleary Gottlieb Fellowship Program, which places associates at legal services organizations, including The Legal Aid Society, to provide critically needed legal work to underserved communities.
Cleary has partnered with The Legal Aid Society, the U.S.’s oldest and largest legal services organization, for more than 25 years.
