Business Development Coordinator; Capital Markets, Finance, and Restructuring
This role is to support business development and client development activities for the EMEA Capital Markets, Finance, and Restructuring practice groups.
The role reports to the EMEA Business Development Manager, Capital Markets and the EMEA Business Development Manager, Finance and Restructuring. The role also works closely with another BD Coordinator on the team.
Purpose
The Business Development Coordinator will:
- Produce standard materials (credentials, pitches, bios etc.)
- Carry out research and analysis, including competitor analysis on key clients, practices, and sectors
- Compile local and pan-European legal directory and award submissions
- Facilitate communication between partners within practices and sector interest groups
- Identify and communicate new business opportunities
- Support cross-selling initiatives
- Support implementation of Business Development plans
- Contribute to pan-European business development projects
- Organize events
Key Responsibilities
Practice Support
- Support partners and lawyers in the various practice groups
- Support BD Manager in executing the BD plan
- Maintain key messages, marketing materials, standard slides, credentials, pitch materials, and bios for the group
- Support analysis and tracking of key clients and targets
- Support cross-selling efforts
- Compile local and pan-European legal directory and award submissions
- Support organization of partner meetings, document actions and follow-up on actions agreed
Pitch Support
- Prepare credentials and pitches, tailoring materials for individual clients
- Track, store, and produce standard text and materials for pitches and bios
- Ensure consistency of pitch material and seek improvements in quality
- Support client presentations
Client Relationship Management
- Keep partners informed of developments at key clients, both internally and externally
- Work with the Research team to research clients, markets, and sectors
- Manage data held on key clients, especially on InterAction and Microsoft Dynamics
Client Communication
- Work with PR/Media team on promotion of publications/client reports
- Oversee contact lists and mailing lists for key clients and practices
- Support on promotion via social media channels
Skills and Competencies
Education/Experience
- Educated up to degree level or equivalent
- Minimum two years’ business development experience at an international law firm or professional services organization
- Fluent in English and ideally one other European language
- General knowledge of business and financial markets, and in particular an interest in Capital Markets, Debt Finance, and Restructuring
- Willingness to learn about Capital Markets, Debt Finance, and Restructuring products and become a skilled technician in go-to market strategies
- High level of attention to detail, excellent oral and written communications skills, analytical and research skills, and a desire to keep abreast of current market developments/trends
