Senior Specialist, Social Media and Content Strategy
The Senior Specialist, Social Media and Content Strategy will manage day-to-day publishing across digital channels, supporting a global communications strategy that ensures a consistent external voice, promotes recruitment initiatives, and increases social media engagement.
This individual will work with a high degree of independence, taking ownership of the firm’s European publishing output and social media channels.
The role will report to the Senior Manager, Brand, Digital and Content and will collaborate with Creative Services, Business Development, Marketing and Communications teams, as well as other professional staff departments, to support communication initiatives. The successful candidate will bring strategic thinking, excellent interpersonal skills, and the confidence to lead projects and advise stakeholders without close supervision.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with partners, practice groups and other Finance teams to help ensure accurate, timely billing and compliance with client requirements.
- Lead publishing support for European communications, including bio edits, client alerts, deal news, newsletters, press releases, and awards and directories results, working with the global team to ensure seamless coverage across regions.
- Publish website content and ensure items flow to the right communications channels, including the website, the firm intranet, LinkedIn, and other relevant platforms; coordinate these efforts with other department functions, including CRM, Creative Services, and Public Relations.
- Draft, edit, plan and schedule content to a high standard across platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and others, using Hootsuite Enterprise, ensuring accuracy and a consistent brand voice across all platforms at all times.
- Update firm social and digital profiles regularly, ensuring they reflect the current messaging and branding of the firm.
- Lead the development of Cleary’s Instagram presence and strategy, with a focus on the recruiting audience.
- Track, analyse, and report on social media performance metrics to optimise content strategy and drive continuous improvement in social media performance.
- Liaise with the Creative Services team in the production of social media graphics using Adobe Express, and ensure brand consistency across channels.
- Keep abreast of social media industry trends, tools and regulations, including regular competitor analysis and ABA compliance and ethical behaviour guidelines on social media channels.
- Provide individual and group training to lawyers, advising on social media brand development, best practices in using our employee advocacy tool, and ensuring alignment with the firm’s digital policies.

- Sound understanding of social media strategy and the ability to translate strategy into effective, platform-appropriate content.
Required Experience
- Demonstrable experience drafting and posting content across major social media platforms, with a strong understanding of platform best practices.
- Proven understanding of social media strategy, including audience targeting, content planning, and performance analysis.
- Experience using email marketing platforms, with Vuture strongly preferred.
- Experience using a website CMS and publishing content within a structured content hierarchy.
- Working understanding of CRM systems and distribution lists.
- A minimum of 5 – 6 years of professional experience, preferably within a legal environment or professional services firm.
- University degree in communications, marketing, journalism or a related field, or equivalent experience.
